This painting depicts Mount Jackson, one of the prominent peaks in Glacier National Park, Montana. The view is taken from a location similar to Ansel Adams’ photograph of Mount Jackson and Mount Fusilade, though here the focus is solely on Jackson itself. In my painting, clouds gather and rise above the peak, with the mountain’s form guiding the eye upward to accentuate their height and presence.
