The River Fisherman is an original Vermont river painting inspired by the Black River, a beloved trout fishing destination near my studio. This scene captures the early morning quiet along the riverbank, when sunlight begins to touch the rocks and trees, and the water flows with the day’s promise. Though no fisherman is painted here, the perspective invites you to step into the moment — to imagine standing at the water’s edge, rod in hand, preparing to cast. With golden tones reflecting off the river, shadows under the trees, and light dancing across the surface, the painting holds the spirit of fishing and the meditative bond between water, nature, and the fisherman’s heart.
